Over the past 15 years, we have been operating as an engineering consultant specializing in services such as safety audits and electrical failure analysis. Our work includes the regular inspection and evaluation of electrical systems across a wide range of facilities. As part of these routine audit activities, accurate measurement of loop impedance is essential. However, since many of the systems are protected by Residual Current Devices (RCDs), conventional testing methods can cause unintended tripping, leading to operational disruption. Therefore, we require a reliable solution or instrument capable of measuring loop impedance without tripping the RCD. This capability is critical to ensure efficient, non-intrusive testing on systems that are in operation and to maintain continuity in the audit process.
