We would like to appreciate you very much for using Kyoritsu products.
It is our great regret that we should inform you of a software problem found on KEW5010 and KEW5020 and that we should ask your cooperation to solve the problem, which should cause much inconvenience to you. Please let us explain the details as below.

A problem found |
|
When KEW5010 or 5020 is used with the KEW clamp sensors which are available to use together, the measurement will be incorrect from the year 2008. Please be sure that the measurement until December 31st 2007 should be correct, and also that there is no problem in the KEW clamp sensors themselves.
The cause is that we erroneously put the same ID numbers on the internal calendar year and on the sensors in the software. As the result, KEW5010 or 5020 will identify the year and the sensor incorrectly. For example, the internal calendar year 2008 and the KEW8121 have the same ID number of 08, so the measurement with KEW8121 will be incorrect during the year 2008 but will correctly measure from the January 1st of 2009. KEW8122 was put the ID number 09 which is same as the calendar year 2009, so the measurement with KEW8122 will be incorrect during the year 2009. Other sensors were put the ID number in the same manner.

Solution |

We amended the software to version 1.05. (We released the shipment ex-factory for the KEW5010 or 5020 with version 1.05 from June 15th, 2007.)
The problem is solved in the version after 1.05. (ex. 1.06, 1.07) |

Request for the return of KEW5010 or 5020 with the version 1.00 - 1.04 |
|
It is required to upgrade the KEW5010 or 5020 with the version 1.00 to 1.04. We would like to ask your kind understanding and cooperation for us to collect the products. Please send your KEW5010 or 5020 to our sales representative in your country. We will upgrade the software to version 1.05 and will check the operation within one week and will send the product back to the sales representative as soon as it is ready.
